We finally got everyone together for a slow weekend by the water —
coffee before the heat came up, muddy towels hung over the rail, and a
loose plan that mostly turned into sitting in the shade. These are the
photos worth keeping from the creek, the back-pasture walk, and the long
drive out before everyone scattered again.
The best part was how unplanned it all felt. Nobody dressed up, nobody
tried to make a schedule, and the dog treated every shallow bend in the
creek like it had been put there personally for him.
By Sunday the whole camera roll had that same sun-baked look: wet hair,
dusty shoes, cattle nosing around the pasture fence, and one last clear
road photo on the way home.
These are just the highlights. The rest of the roll has the blurry porch
pictures, the cooler inventory, and at least seven attempts at getting
everyone to look at the camera at the same time. If you want prints, tell
Nick which ones before the next family dinner.
